Mystery Bay Management Plan wins award
The Mystery Bay Management Plan won the NASBLA Waterways Management Award. Amanda Carr served on the Mystery Bay Management Plan team. This team, comprised of state and local officials, shellfish growers, community members, and tribes, was formed to develop innovative solutions to address use conflicts between recreational boating, residents, and shellfish resources and farming activities in Mystery Bay, located in Jefferson County, Washington. Governor Christine Gregoire commented, “……this process was critical for bringing all the parties to the table in a way that respected everyone’s interests and resulted in the best possible plan for all involved. I applaud you.” The award is being presented September 10, 2012 in Mobile, Alabama at the NASBLA national conference.
