Partner Peter Dykstra will be presenting in two workshops at Rally 2015: The National Land Conservation Conference.
The first, Water Issues in Western Land Conservation, is an afternoon half-day seminar on October 8. This seminar will highlight good practices when including water rights in conservation easements. Participants will develop an understanding of the legal and practical water issues that should be considered in a conservation easement through participatory problem solving, and will take home some comprehensive tools to use for good practices, including checklists and model conservation easement deed language.
The second, Grabbing the Tiger by the Tail: Land Trust Collaboration for Large Landscape Conservation Success, is a seminar being held on October 9. Peter will be sharing experience from his involvement in the Teanaway Community Forest conservation project, as well as the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan implementation process.
