Annual Shellfish Growers Conference and Tradeshow

Partner, Amanda Carr was a speaker at the 69th Annual Shellfish Growers Conference and Tradeshow, held in Hood River, OR from September 22 – 24th, 2015. She was one of 10 speakers who presented as part of the moderated panel on Shellfish & Seagrass: Functions, Values & Interactions.  Speakers were present from the WA Department of Natural Resources, NOAA Fisheries, and University of Washington, among others.  Amanda presented on “Regulatory Framework: Federal, State, and Local Permitting”

Rally 2015: The National Land Conservation Conference

Partner Peter Dykstra will be presenting in two workshops at Rally 2015: The National Land Conservation Conference.

The first, Water Issues in Western Land Conservation, is an afternoon half-day seminar on October 8. This seminar will highlight good practices when including water rights in conservation easements. Participants will develop an understanding of the legal and practical water issues that should be considered in a conservation easement through participatory problem solving, and will take home some comprehensive tools to use for good practices, including checklists and model conservation easement deed language.

The second, Grabbing the Tiger by the Tail: Land Trust Collaboration for Large Landscape Conservation Success, is a seminar being held on October 9. Peter will be sharing experience from his involvement in the Teanaway Community Forest conservation project, as well as the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan implementation process.

PLAUCHÉ & CARR SELECTED AS 2016 BEST LAWYERS

Amanda Carr has once again been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2016 Best Lawyers of America in the practice area of Environmental Law.

Billy Plauché has once again been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2016 Best Lawyers of America in the practice area of Natural Resources and Environmental Law. In addition, this year he has also been selected as a 2016 Best Lawyer in the practice area of Land Use and Zoning Law.

 

Jessica Anderson elected to Chair KCBA’s Environmental and Land Use Law Section

Jessica Anderson, Associate at Plauché & Carr LLP, was elected to serve as Chair for the King County Bar Association’s (KCBA’s) Environmental and Land Use Law Section (“ELUL” or “Section”) for the 2015-2016 term.  Jessica has worked with the ELUL for the past four years, first as the Section’s CLE Chair, and last year as Vice Chair.  As Chair, she will continue to provide high-quality CLEs and networking opportunities, perform outreach to Section members, and work with the Board to develop the Section’s scholarship program.
